THANKS ALL for your responses about leaving the stamp pad out of the tin but notifying in the clues that there is no pad. I think that is the best route to take and without the pad, there is a little room for bits and pieces of paper toweling or wipes to clean the stamp.

Weather shouldn't be a problem for this box since it is likely to spend just a short period of time out in the elements. The bags are more to keep the contents inside should the lid pop for some reason. I am double bagging it in case one bag deteriorates for some reason. I just bought 1000 ziplock bags of various sizes from 8'X10" down to 1"X1.5" pretty inexpensively so I have LOTS of them to use up.

had water in it .But the ziplocs help some.
Try to hide it out of the elements if you can.(In a covered tree stump
maybe).
